Student Resources
Student Logins
Students log into their GSD portal and Canvas accounts by using their student ID number (9-number) and their GSD password. When a new user account is created or password expires, the default password is School1. Passwords must be reset to include upper and lower case letters, a number and/or special character. Passwords CANNOT include student names or any part of the student number. Chromebook logins include the first four letters of the first name, first four letters of the last name, and first four numbers of the student number, followed by @granitesd.org.
Canvas
Seeing Current Courses
If you click on the book icon in the gray menu of your Canvas, and then click on "All Courses", you can choose to star or favorite only your current courses so that those are the only ones that appear on your dashboard. To unfavorite or unstar a course, simply click the star a second time.
Dropped Courses
When course changes occur, it can take several days for the old course to drop off of your Canvas account and for the new course to appear. In the meantime, you can unstar the course that has been dropped.
Using Microsoft or Google in Canvas
In order to complete Microsoft or Google assignments, be sure to authorize your account with Canvas. For Office 365 (Microsoft) accounts, use your student ID followed by @graniteschools.org and your regular GSD password (Hint: sometimes it will be your 4-4-4 username followed by @graniteschools.org, so if the first doesn't work, try that). For Google, use your Chromebook login (@granitesd.org) email. If one of your accounts gives you an error or does not load products, please submit a work order here.

Pathway
This is an example of a research pathway on Norse Mythology. It was created using Symbaloo Learning Path. This is a great tool for creating presentations to use for in-class assignments or to help you get started on a research paper.
